GOOD NEWS STUPIDITY
Good news: to reduce carbon emissions, a wind turbine was installed outside the penitentiary where death sentences are carried out by electrocution. Such a story might be worthy of the satirical media site The Onion but wait: there is more: namely Scotland to earn £260m from floating windfarms powering North Sea rigs, a headline in the Guardian under the Climate Crisis rubric. My first instinct was that this must be a joke or at least a serious attempt to take the mickey out of the Scottish Government for such a ridiculous proposition. But no, to the contrary, this article was in actual praise of ‘reducing emissions’ by way of powering oil and gas rigs in the North Sea. How stupid can one get?
